The Bible in Six Chapters
Speaker: The Revd Professor John
Kater
We all know that the Bible is a book composed of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of stories, many of which are well known to us: Noah’s Ark, David and Goliath, the Prodigal Son, The Conversion of Paul.
But the Bible is also ONE story: the story of God’s dealings with the world through our spiritual ancestors the Jews, through Jesus and through the Church that followed him.
This course of open lectures will offer a way to approach the Bible as one story written in six “chapters” – BEGINNINGS, PROMISES, PROPHETS, GOOD NEWS, SPIRIT ANDENDINGS – and highlight what each of them tells us about God.
